The Borough of Madison was named after the fourth President of the United States and its broad tree lined streets reflect the colonial characteristics of its early development. Today, as an affluent residential community, Madison has become a haven for executives and businessmen who customarily commute to New York City via excellent train and bus accommodations.
The Borough is approximately four square miles in size and offers outstanding municipal services and facilities to its residents. Primary among these is a Main Street Business district with widely diversified specialty shops, excellent restaurants and easy accessibility for shoppers. In addition, Madison Borough has more than 101 acres of parks and public lands allocated for recreational use.
Madison is the home of three major academic institutions: Drew University, Pairleigh Dickinson University and St. Elizabeth’s College. The municipality offers a large and excellent public elementary and secondary school system as well as a department of Special Services (Child Study Team for learning disabled).
Madison’s central location is convenient for commuters to New York City and vacationers going to the mountains or seashore.
The price range for homes is about $200,000 to over $2 million.
